I have to admit — the audiobook narrator completely carried this book for me. Her voice was fun, playful, and honestly the main reason I kept listening. She made it feel like you were right there in the story. Unfortunately, the actual plot didn’t give me much to hold onto. I kept waiting for something big to happen… some drama, suspense, anything that would make the story build toward a real ending. But the ending kind of just… blah, like that was it? It felt less like a story with a payoff and more like listening in on someone’s summer diary. Not terrible, but definitely not the kind of book that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

A wonderful read for any mother. A book that shows what a shared experience motherhood is. And wonderful tidbits of insight from seasoned mothers of successful, happy grown children

I am traveling to Scotland in the fall and am trying to track down some Scottish fiction in preparation. This was written in Scots! I found it challenging and spooky, great brief read.
