Another great story set in the Inkworld....my only complaint was it seemed a bit long. I know there were a lot of difficulties to overcome, but it also seemed like they couldn't get a break until 600 pages in.

Detailed reflections on the life of a veterinarian surgeon. Some very interesting commentary on euthanisia for pets, and also about professional mistakes.

Beautiful writing, great suspense and atmosphere! Good for a reality check on the importance practical skills and emergency preparedness, lol.

I loved the slow-moving, warm and perceptive story of the inhabitants of the Irish village of Faha in the 1950s, as it makes its way into modern times with the coming of the telephone and electricity. Friendship, love, incredible writing. I just got another book the author has written from the library, entitled Time of the Child, also taking place in Faha. Sadly the library only has these 2, but I may request an inter-library loan to read more from Niall Williams.

Excellent read - I was up all night because I couldn't put it down. If you like WWII romance (light on war, heavy on romance), this book is for you! The writing was beautiful and eloquent and expertly drew several story lines together.

This book was compelling and I was addicted right from the beginning. The book is beautifully written and truly outlines real world issues. Truly, eye-opening.
