Good read for our times, with lots of useful and interesting references.

A wonderful and favourite author and this is her latest novel which I found to be gripping and with all the interesting history of a civil war in Chile in the 1800s with a main character who is strong and makes headway as a journalist when women were not considered to even be journalists! A great read!

I usually enjoy her books; this one was no different. She has good, easy to follow, story telling skills. I enjoyed reading about the start up of women in NASA.

Well written and compelling. I loved the interesting formatting and I found the end very moving.

When it comes to horror H.P Lovecraft is a classic.This version of the book has been adapted into a graphic novel. While I do think giving picture to cosmic horror lessens its impact, the artist captured the expeditions slow decent into madness perfectly.

Very interesting concept for a post apocalyptic book. The apocalypse is already over and the book is instead a collection of first hand accounts from the survivors of the zombie pandemic. Some of the short stories lead into the other short stories, while some are stand alone. But this format helps give a more international feel to the book. Very interesting to see which events mirrored ours during the pandemic. Also, if you’re a fan of logistics, then you’ll be a fan of this book.

Not her best, certainly still good

This book was a definite page turner. The story Julia Kelly wrote about two sisters who have become disconnected from each other and discover that they need to bond anew in order to overcome their past is full of twists. She wrote about the changes during the Second World War years from a new perspective. It especially showed how women of all classes were learning to evolve.

A thriller with a revenge plot carried out by women. A la Why Women Kill.
