The short stories were not for me. However, the titular novella "Here the Dark" was phenomenal and deserves five stars. I adored the protagonist Lily and found the story to be moving and meaningful.

She is a wonderful writer, history so brought alive.

My first introduction to looking at "the Other Side" as the author calls the whole spiritual non-physical realm. She introduces many stories to make the point that there is a lot of the spiritual and the beings who have passed on that we are not attuned to seeing and understanding. Very readable. I am now looking for signs and asking for signs from my loved ones from beyond. I stay skeptical but open. You may want to try this book and see what you think.

She is not an author, so sometimes things are repeated but this is her story, and she went through a lot. Good for her for getting it out. She tells it all.

Interesting read, with lots of twists and turns. The last section VI was a let down and rather boring. I really liked how he made future societies and worlds sound plausible and authentic.
